Rick – Service Technician
I grew up in KCK and moved to Basehor midway though high school. I graduated from Basehor-Linwood in 2017 and was also pursuing a career in computer repair at KCKCC.
My Dad is a union brick layer and has always been extremely handy; there was basically nothing he couldn’t figure out how to fix or work on. He was always taking me to the junkyard to find parts for a car or showing me how to use tools and put things together. It was a good experience and influence on my life choices when it comes to learning new skills.
I found a passion for fixing things and working with my hands after becoming a Game Technician at a restaurant and arcade. Everything changed when COVID struck and I had to change careers to move away from the restaurant industry. A few years later, Colton, another technician for Andy’s Pipe Dream was doing work on my future home and that’s how I learned about the company and business philosophy. I became an apprentice shortly after meeting him and completed on the job training becoming a service technician.
Outside of work I’m either spending time with close friends, playing video games, or still fixing things either at my home or on my car. Nothing lasts forever so I pride myself on keeping up on everything!
